Culture crossing Vzlet („Takeoff“)
STORY:
Cultural center Vzlet is an Art Deco cinema built in 1921. Exactly 100 years later it was open after long reconstruction and now has two main purposes:
• It hosts local cultural events for Prague residents
• It is a time machine, that will bring you back 100 years into great tango event

RONDA DESIGN:
Desde el Alma & Nochero Soy will be my fifth event in this place. Every time I figure out some improvement, last time I opened a bar next to the podium for example. There are always some limits somewhere, but this setting has been brought almost to full perfection:
Main advantages:
• Entries to the room (6 during day, 3 in night because of noice limits)
• All 4 corners functioning as entries
• sufficient sitting capacity
• big chill out zone podium
• bar inside the room
RONDA DESIGN:

Even with modern airconditioning system in the building, I needed to improve the environment. I reduced the amount of people by 25 as first. Additionally to it I do my best by:
• Adding fans around the floor
• Installing 2 powerful industrial dehumidificiers

LIGHT SETTING:
There will be 4 line zones with separated color and intensity adjustment each and prepared presets to optimilize the light setting during milongas. The purpose is to find a solution so as to create good energy light for the dancers and yet still create good light conditions for cabaceo and photographers.
• Main zone over the floor with atmospheric color
• Special zone in each corner of the ronda for cabaceo
and as a hunting spot for photographers
• more colored and chilled light over the chill zone and by DJ
• more conventional light in sitting/socal zone

LIGHT AESTHETICS:
The light concept of Desde el Alma is to connect history of tango and all its essential values that will always remain part of its definition and to combine it with its presence and all the beautiful elements tango could benefit from by maturing for almost a century and by spreading all around the world…
As a starting point than, I have chosen the aesthetics of Tiffany lamps – whose characteristic organic style originates from 1893 and actually never changed and combined it with artiginal – Murano like – Bohemian handmade glass, which has rich tradition and translated organics from theme into its forms and colors and which is flowing in its colors, forms, shapes and inspirations so as to represent the continuity of tango and all its different shapes and colors we love..
Both poles are visibly from different eras but talk the same language..
Instead of having huge amount of elements equaly spread around the venue, I decided to create several focus points, each one of them created by different elements clustered together so as to offer several light installations for You distributed around the venue.. I do hope You will enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them..
